Event Description

This 12-hour advanced training is for those in leadership, supervisory and decision-making positions who have already completed basic antiracism training. This training examines the programs, services and method of delivery that your organization provides. Participants will learn to use a Racial Equity Impact Assessment Tool for planning events, developing programs and creating policies. Activities, exercises and scenarios examine:

  • The history of racism in the war on drugs
  • The history of racism in mental health services
  •  Social services industrial complex
  • Ethics of serving communities of color of which you are not a member
  • Racial trauma and trauma informed practices
  •  Policies and practices that are barriers to or amplifiers of equity and inclusion
  • Programs, marketing, service culture, delivery methods, communication
  • Marketing, messaging, reaching those you wish to serve
  • Cultural humility and cultural competence  
  • Community partnerships, allyship and bridge-building 
  • Restorative justice practices: alternatives to cycles of punishment and exclusion
